Background

The Hong Kong Industrial Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Centre (FLAIR) is a leading research and development center focused on AI and robotics applications to drive industrial innovation. During my time at FLAIR, I primarily contributed to the Sustainability Platform, where I worked on AI-driven solutions for environmental sustainability.

Role

In this proejct, I worked closely with AI Algorithm Engineers and a System Architect, primarily focusing on frontend development with some backend contributions. Together, we developed a web application that provides real-time analysis results of recycled items. When items pass through RGB and Near-Infrared (NIR) cameras on a conveyor, these devices analyze them and send detailed data—such as color, fabric composition, and confidence scores—to the frontend via WebSocket. My role involved designing an intuitive user interface using Next.js, as well as building and optimizing backend APIs with FastAPI to to efficiently handle data retrieval and processing.This is the content of the first demo project.
